Our Story

Our story

We spent the better part of a decade in New York City frequenting the same coffee shops, dancing at the same bars like Bowery Electric and Phebes, and searching for the best chocolate chip cookie. But we never managed to run into each other.

Unlike the Hallmark love stories that Katie enjoys watching during Christmas, ours was not as conveniently scripted. In the end, all it took was two swipes to the right for us to find each other.

Our first date was at Lelabar in the West Village, where we connected over our shared interests and times where we could have crossed paths. The next few dates celebrated these interests: strolling the Whitney, sampling cookies at Maman, attending a Stephen Sanchez concert, laughing it up at the Stand, and trying a variety of omakase.

Fast forward two years and our worlds had expanded. We discovered our love for traveling together, exploring Tahoe, London, Barcelona, Madrid, Rio, and Tuscany. We introduced each other to our friends and soon enough we both had made such wonderful, new friendships. Most importantly, we had become each other’s go-to person, navigating life’s twists and turns hand in hand.

On a sunny October morning in the Catskills, we went for a walk around a trail lined by tall pines and weeping willows. We laughed at each other’s jokes and sang the wrong lyrics to a song. It could have been any ordinary morning. But on that day, Nick found a quiet spot, knelt down on one knee, and asked Katie to be his wife.

Accommodations

Accomodations

There are limited accommodations near our venue since there will be many local events for

Labor Day Weekend. We highly recommend booking as soon as you're sure you plan to attend.

We have rooms blocks at three local inns: the White Hart, the Millerton, and the Litchfield Inn. We will be providing transportation to and from these inns, and may be providing transportation for other accommodations depending on how many wedding guests plan to stay there. We also highly recommend the Interlaken Inn, as it's the closest to our venue, they did not have a block available but they have some rooms left, we will also provide shuttle transportation from here, as well.

There are also a number of Airbnbs in Sharon, CT, Salisbury, CT, Millerton, NY, and Amenia, NY. We have a list of Airbnb options that wedding guests of our venue have used previously, so please reach out to Katie or Nick if you need any help finding a place to stay.

Q & A

Q & A

What Should I Wear?

The wedding will be formal attire, which means suits and ties for men and midi or long dresses for women in lightweight, summery materials as its usually hot in the end of August in Connecticut.

Will There Be Transportation

We will be providing shuttle transportation on Saturday from your accommodations to and from LionRock Farm. More information to follow as people book their accommodations.

Are Children Invited?

While we love your little ones, we have chosen to make our wedding an adults only celebration. We want to allow all guests to relax and enjoy themselves. We thank you for your understanding.

Will We Be Outside?

Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be taking place outdoors on grass, followed by a dinner reception and dancing under a tent, so please keep that in mind when choosing your footwear!

Is There Parking At The Venue?

If you would prefer to drive yourself there is ample parking at the wedding venue. The venue asks that you park only in the designated parking areas, which will be marked.

Will there be an event on Friday night?

Yes, we are planning a Welcome Party for Friday, August 29th. More details to come as we get closer to August.
